SVG editor, simple and free
Open an SVG, delete stray shapes, move, resize and recolour, add text, and download it again. Your file stays in your browser.
On a phone you can tap shapes and delete them. Moving and resizing need a mouse or trackpad, so a computer works best.
How to edit an SVG
- Open your file. Drop an SVG above. Got a PNG or JPG? Turn it into an SVG first, then choose Edit in the Next step row.
- Remove what you don’t want. Click a stray shape and press Delete, or use Select small shapes to catch lots of specks at once.
- Move and resize. Drag a shape to move it. Drag a corner handle to resize it, or the handle above it to rotate it.
- Change the colours. Recolour one shape in the panel, or change a colour everywhere under Colours in the file.
- Download. Click Download SVG. Your file keeps its original size, so it stays ready for your cutter or printer.
Why use this SVG editor?
Full design apps are powerful, but sometimes you only need to take out a stray speck or change one colour. This editor does the small jobs quickly, with nothing to install.
Made for traced files
Files from a tracer often hold every shape of a colour in one path. Here they’re split on opening, so each speck can be clicked on its own.
Clean-up in one move
Select every small shape at once and delete them, then undo if you went too far.
Whole-file recolouring
Match a brand colour or switch to your vinyl colours by changing a swatch once.
Private
The editor runs on your computer. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.
Who it’s for
Cricut and Silhouette crafters
Remove the bits you don’t want to cut before uploading, so there’s less to weed. Then nest your design on a mat to save vinyl.
Small shops and print sellers
Change colours for a customer, or take out a background shape, without opening a big design app.
Anyone with a logo
Change a colour, remove an element or add a line of text, then save a PNG when you need one.

Questions
How do I edit an SVG file online?
Drop your SVG into the box above. Click a shape to select it, then drag to move it, drag a corner to resize it, or change its colour in the panel. Press Delete to remove it. When you’re done, click Download SVG.
Is this SVG editor free?
Yes. It’s free, with no sign-up and no watermark. It runs in your browser, and your file is not uploaded.
How do I remove stray bits from a traced SVG?
Use Select small shapes in the panel: set how small with the slider, click the button, then press Delete. You can also click any single speck and delete it, or drag a box around several. Press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac) if you remove too much.
Why are my shapes already separated?
Many SVG files, including Vectacle’s own, keep every shape of one colour in a single path. The editor splits these when it opens the file, so you can click one speck without selecting everything in that colour. Holes stay with the shape around them, such as the middle of the letter O.
How do I change a colour everywhere at once?
Under Colours in the file, click a swatch and pick the new colour. Every shape in that colour changes in one step, and one undo brings it back.
Will text I add work in Cricut Design Space?
SVG text stores a font name, not the letter shapes, and Cricut Design Space and Silhouette Studio may show it in a different font or not at all. For cutting, use the text tool in your cutting software instead, or draw the words in a design app and convert them to outlines.
Can I use it on a phone?
You can open a file, tap shapes and delete them, but dragging to move or resize needs a mouse or trackpad. It works best on a computer.
What about very big files?
The editor keeps every shape live in the browser, so files with tens of thousands of shapes can feel slow, and it warns you when one does. Optimizing the SVG first can help.
